Memories of a crabapple

These mushrooms show up every spring to remind us of the crabapple tree that died a few years ago (of old age).  Obviously the roots are rotting away below the lawn, nourishing these fungi.

    That is too funny! I'm not sure I'd ever have put 2 and 2 together, but I like thinking about that.
